The reality is that prospective mathematics teachers have low problem-solving abilities, so it is necessary to analyze the causes of these low-solving abilities. This research aims to uncover the causes of the low problem-solving abilities of prospective mathematics teachers using PKL, USG, and fishbone diagrams. The research method used is qualitative. The research subjects were students of the Mathematics Education study program, FMIPA, Universitas PGRI Banyuwangi who were prospective mathematics teachers according to the achievements of study program graduates. The main instrument of this research is the researcher. Meanwhile, supporting instruments include tests, open questionnaires, researcher notes, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the APKL, followed by the USG method, and then using the fishbone diagram. The results of the research reveal that the causes of low problem-solving abilities are inadequate procedural abilities in solving mathematical problems, inadequate declarative knowledge or knowledge of mathematical concepts, inadequate representational abilities, biological problems, and inadequate interests. This research provides signs for educators to anticipate the causes of the low problem-solving abilities of prospective mathematics teachers.
Puguh Darmawan Barep Yohanes Mei Rina Hadi ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-27 2023-11-27 6 2 199 218 10.21274/jtm.2023.6.2.199-218 Conceptual Understanding of Students with Special Needs in Two-dimensional Shapes Based on Pirie Kieren's Theory https://ejournal.uinsatu.ac.id/index.php/jtm/article/view/7998
This study aims to describe the conceptual understanding of two-dimensional shapes in students with special needs based on Pirie Kieren's theory in terms of learning motivation. This research is a case study with the research subject is 1 students with special needs of class IV at SDN Pademawu Timur V The results of this study are low learning motivation with layers of understanding on the square starting from Image making then head to property noticing to ineffective folding back to image making and do ineffective folding back again to primitive knowing. In solving the square problem, the subject doubled back to ineffective image-making and primitive knowing. Meanwhile, in the rectangular problem, the subject does one folding back to image making. There are similarities in solving square and rectangular problems, for example, the subject describes the two-dimensional shape first before image making and folding back because they don't know how to calculate the area of a square and rectangle. From the similarities and differences in the thinking flow of students with special needs in squares and rectangles, educators are expected to be able to pay attention to their understanding abilities and learning motivation before carrying out learning.
Ukhti Raudhatul Jannah Ainur Rofiq Hafsi Septia Nurhidayati ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-27 2023-11-27 6 2 219 230 10.21274/jtm.2023.6.2.219-230 Kepraktisan dan Keefektifan Penggunaan E-LKPD Konteks Sosial Budaya Berbantuan Workbook GeoGebra terhadap Kemampuan Numerasi Peserta Didik pada Materi Limas https://ejournal.uinsatu.ac.id/index.php/jtm/article/view/8313
Numeracy is a person's ability to implement mathematics in the home, work and community environments. This research aims to measure the practicality and effectiveness of using E-LKPD in a socio-cultural context assisted by GeoGebra workbooks in improving students' numeracy skills in pyramid material. The type of research used was a quasi-experiment (Quasi-experiment) with research subjects 21 class VIII students at SMPN 1 Kalisat Jember.
