Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran respon ibu dalam menghadapi emosi negatif anak dan dampaknya terhadap regulasi emosi anak usia 3-5 tahun. Terdapat 2 subskala dalam respon ibu menghadapi emosi negatif yaitu subskala unsupportive dan supportive yang merupakan variabel independen. Sementara untuk variabel dependen dalam penelitian adalah regulasi emosi. Teknik dalam pengambilan sampel penelitian adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 184 orang ibu yang memiliki anak usia 3-5 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah The Coping with Children’s Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES) dan Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC). Hasil pengujian hipotesis didapatkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang signifikan negatif respon unsupportive ibu dan kemampuan regulasi emosi anak (p-value < 0,05; R= - 0,426) serta respon supportive dan kemampuan regulasi emosi anak (p-value < 0,05; R= 0,178). Hal tersebut menunjukkan semakin ibu menggunakan respon unsupportive dalam menghadapi emosi negatif anak akan mengakibatkan kemampuan regulasi emosi anak yang rendah. Sebaliknya semakin ibu menggunakan respon supportive menghadapi emosi negatif anak maka akan meningkatkan kemampuan regulasi emosi anak
