Generative AI Policy

Upon submission, authors need to disclose any generative AI use in the writing process. The provisions below apply specifically to the writing process and do not cover the use of AI tools for data analysis or for deriving research insights.

  1. Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used only to improve the manuscript’s readability and language. Therefore, these tools should be used with appropriate human oversight; authors are required to carefully examine and amend the produced content because artificial intelligence may generate text that appears convincingly expert yet remains inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Authors therefore retain full responsibility and accountability for the content of their work.
  2. AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be recorded or cited as authors or co-authors, since authorship involves obligations that only humans can meet.
  3. Authors must report the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process by adding a statement at the end of the manuscript at the time of the initial submission.

This statement will also appear in the published version of the paper and should be placed in a new section before the references. The required format is illustrated below:

  1. Title of New Section: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process Statement: During the preparation of this work, the author(s) utilized [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [REASON]. After utilizing this tool/service, the author(s) conducted a comprehensive review and made necessary edits to the content, thereby assuming full responsibility for the final version of the published article.
  2. This declaration is not required when using basic tools, such as grammar or spelling checkers and reference managers. If no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used, no statement is needed.

Note: To protect authors’ confidentiality and intellectual property rights, this journal currently forbids reviewers or editors from using generative AI or AI-assisted tools, such as ChatGPT, during peer review and manuscript evaluation. The journal is evaluating AI tools that satisfy its requirements and may update this policy in the future.
