CORAK DAN METODE TAFSIR BINT AL-SHATI’: Studi atas al-Tafsir al-Bayaniy li al-Qur’an al-Karim

Abstract

Artikel ini menyoal corak dan metode interpretasi Bint al-Shati’ dengan menelaah kitab tafsirnya al-Tafsir al-Baya>niy li al-Qur’an al-Kari>m. Penulis menemukan bahwa metode yang diterapkan oleh Bint al-Shati’ bercorak sastra (literary exegesis) yang didesain menjadi interpretasi inter-teks al-Qur’an dan secara metodologis dapat dikategorikan modern. Metode tersebut menggunakan pendekatan tematik (mawu‘i) dalam menafsirkan al-Qur’an dan menekankan perlunya interpretasi filologi berdasar pada kronologis teks dan penggunaan semantik bahasa Arab. Pendekatan tematik ini lahir sebagai respon terhadap metode penafsiran klasik yang oleh pakar al-Qur’an kontemporer dinilai parsial dan atomistik.

This article discusses methods Qur’anic exegete developed by Bint al-Shati’ as mentioned in her al-Tafsir al-Baya>niy li al-Qur’an al-Kari>m. It argues that the method adopted by Bint al-Shati’ is literature patterned (literary exegesis) which design to be inter-text interpretation of the Qur’an and metodologically can be modern considered. The method use a thematic approach (mawu’i) in interpreting the Qur’an and stressed the need for interpretation of chronological philology based on text and using of Arabic language semantics. This thematic approach was born as a respone to the classical method of interpreation which by the Qur’anic contemporary expert assessed partial and atomistic.
