Article Retraction

Retraction

Martabat: Jurnal Perempuan dan Anak is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. An article may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable due to misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification) or honest errors (e.g., miscalculations or experimental mistakes).

  • The article has been previously published elsewhere without proper citation or permission (redundant publication).

  • Ethical violations occur, including plagiarism or inappropriate authorship.

The retraction process follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). When a potential issue is identified, the editor will investigate the case, communicate with the authors, and make a final decision regarding retraction. If an article is retracted, a retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article to ensure transparency in the academic record.

Article Withdrawal

Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript during the submission or peer review process, before the manuscript is formally accepted for publication. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the journal’s editorial office, explaining the reason for the withdrawal.

Once a manuscript has been accepted and the publication agreement has been signed, withdrawal is generally not permitted.

Article Correction

The journal may issue a correction when a published article contains errors that affect the clarity or accuracy of the publication but do not invalidate the main findings. Corrections may include:

  • Erratum – correction of errors introduced by the publisher during production.

  • Corrigendum – correction of errors made by the authors.

  • Addendum – additional information or clarification related to the published article.

The decision to publish a correction is made by the editor, sometimes in consultation with reviewers or editorial board members.

Article Removal

In rare cases, an article may be removed from the journal’s online platform if it is found to violate legal rights, contain defamatory content, or pose serious legal or public health risks. In such cases, the article’s metadata will remain available, while the content will be replaced with a notice explaining the reason for removal.

Article Replacement

If a published article is found to contain serious errors that may mislead readers or cause significant harm, the article may be retracted and replaced with a corrected version. The replacement will include a clear notice explaining the changes and providing a link between the original and corrected versions to maintain transparency.
