Plagiarism Check

Dinamika Penelitian: Media Komunikasi Penelitian Sosial Keagamaan is committed to maintaining originality, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly contributions and appropriately acknowledge the ideas, words, data, methods, figures, instruments, and intellectual contributions of others. The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism, duplicate publication, deliberate misrepresentation, and other violations of research integrity.

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo originality screening using Turnitin as part of the initial editorial assessment and may be rechecked during revision or before publication. The journal normally requires an overall similarity score of no more than 20%, excluding references, properly quoted materials, and other justified textual matches.

Similarity percentages are screening indicators rather than definitive evidence of plagiarism. Editorial assessment considers the sources, distribution, extent, and context of textual overlap. Manuscripts with low similarity scores may still be rejected for substantive plagiarism, while legitimate overlap is evaluated according to appropriate citation practices and scholarly context.

Forms of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes direct copying without attribution, inadequate paraphrasing, mosaic plagiarism, unattributed translation, unauthorized reproduction of figures or tables, misappropriation of research data, and presenting another person's intellectual contributions as original work.

The journal also prohibits self-plagiarism, undisclosed duplicate submission, redundant publication, misleading citation practices, and the reuse of substantial previously published content without appropriate acknowledgment and scholarly justification.

Self-Plagiarism and Prior Dissemination

Authors must disclose manuscripts derived from theses, dissertations, conference proceedings, preprints, institutional reports, policy documents, or community engagement activities. Such submissions must demonstrate substantial scholarly development, additional analysis, new empirical evidence, or meaningful theoretical contributions.

Previously disseminated research must be appropriately cited. Legitimate reuse of methodological descriptions, research instruments, or background information is evaluated in relation to transparency, attribution, originality, and the journal's publication ethics.

Plagiarism in Socio-Religious and Community-Based Research

Research involving Islam, Muslim societies, religious communities, social transformation, community empowerment, participatory action research, and digital ethnography must maintain the authenticity and traceability of its scholarly evidence.

Authors must properly acknowledge interview excerpts, observation records, community documents, religious texts, photographs, local narratives, institutional materials, and previously published research. The use of field materials must comply with applicable consent, confidentiality, copyright, and research ethics requirements.

Translated and AI-Assisted Plagiarism

Translating, paraphrasing, summarizing, or adapting previously published material without acknowledging the original source constitutes plagiarism.

Generative artificial intelligence must not be used to conceal copied content, fabricate references, produce false quotations, misrepresent research findings, or generate misleading claims of originality. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, attribution, and integrity of all AI-assisted content.

Substantive AI assistance must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's Generative AI Policy. Appropriate AI assistance does not exempt authors from their responsibilities concerning originality, citation accuracy, research integrity, and intellectual accountability.

Editorial Actions and Misconduct Handling

Suspected plagiarism is investigated through a fair, confidential, proportionate, and evidence-based editorial process. Editors may request explanations, revised manuscripts, original sources, research documentation, or other supporting evidence.

Minor citation errors or limited textual overlap may be addressed through revision. Substantial plagiarism, deliberate misrepresentation, duplicate publication, or serious academic misconduct may result in manuscript rejection or withdrawal of acceptance.

When plagiarism is confirmed after publication, the journal may publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with its publication ethics and post-publication policies. Authors are provided an appropriate opportunity to respond before a final editorial decision is made.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring manuscript originality, accurate citation, appropriate acknowledgment, and transparent disclosure of previously disseminated material. All references must correspond to genuine and verifiable sources.

Authors must not submit the same or substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals simultaneously. Submission to Dinamika Penelitian constitutes acknowledgment of and agreement to comply with the journal's plagiarism policy, publication ethics, and research integrity requirements.

Editor and Reviewer Responsibilities

Editors and reviewers are responsible for identifying and confidentially reporting suspected plagiarism, inappropriate textual overlap, duplicate publication, misleading references, and unauthorized reuse of scholarly materials.

Similarity reports must be interpreted through informed academic judgment. Editorial decisions must be independent, evidence-based, consistent, and proportionate to the seriousness of the identified concerns.
