Author Guidelines

General Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to Dinamika Penelitian: Media Komunikasi Penelitian Sosial Keagamaan must ensure that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. The manuscript must be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope, particularly research concerning Islam, Muslim societies, socio-religious issues, community empowerment, social transformation, and community development. Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, ethical integrity, and completeness of all submitted content.

Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 paper using Bookman Old Style, 11 pt, single spacing, with margins of 3 cm at the top and 2.5 cm on the left, right, and bottom. Headings and subheadings should use 14 pt bold. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) and normally contain approximately 3,000–8,000 words. Authors must follow the journal template provided on the website.

Title and Author Information

The title should be concise, specific, informative, and clearly represent the main issue and scholarly contribution of the study. Authors must provide their full names, institutional affiliations, country, active email address for the corresponding author, and preferably ORCID iDs. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be written in English and should not exceed 250 words. It should briefly present the research background or problem, purpose, methodology, principal findings, and main conclusion or contribution. Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the central concepts of the article and support indexing and discoverability.

Introduction

The Introduction should clearly establish the research context, scholarly problem, relevant previous studies, research gap, purpose or research questions, and the contribution of the study. Previous literature should be critically synthesized rather than merely listed, and the final part of the Introduction should clearly explain how the study contributes to existing scholarship.

Method

The Method section should provide sufficient information about the research approach and design, research setting, participants or data sources, sampling or selection procedures, instruments, data collection, data analysis, and procedures for validity, reliability, trustworthiness, or triangulation where applicable. Research involving human participants must explain relevant ethical procedures, including informed consent, confidentiality, participant protection, and ethical approval where required.

Findings

The Findings section should present the results clearly and systematically in relation to the research objectives or questions. Tables, figures, quotations, statistical results, and other supporting evidence may be used where relevant, but information already presented in tables or figures should not be unnecessarily repeated in the narrative. Qualitative quotations should accurately represent participant voices and use appropriate anonymized codes where necessary.

Discussion

The Discussion should interpret the findings rather than repeat them. Authors should explain the significance of the results, relate them to relevant national and international scholarship, identify similarities or differences with previous research, and clarify theoretical, social, religious, policy, or practical implications. The discussion should also demonstrate the contribution of the study beyond its immediate institutional or geographical context while ensuring that all claims remain proportional to the evidence presented.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly answer the research objectives or questions and summarize the main scholarly contribution of the study without simply repeating the abstract or findings. It may briefly present implications, limitations, and directions for future research, but should not introduce new data, references, or arguments.

Acknowledgments

Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, communities, interview participants, research assistants, or other parties who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship. Example: The authors thank all interview participants for their valuable insights and the institutions that facilitated the research process.

Author Contributions

Authors must clearly describe the contribution of each author and are encouraged to use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), including roles such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, validation, visualization, writing, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition. Example: Author A: Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Formal Analysis, and Writing – Original Draft. Author B: Data Curation, Validation, and Visualization. Author C: Writing – Review & Editing, Supervision, and Project Administration. All authors reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript. All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution and take appropriate responsibility for the content of the article.

Funding Statement

Authors must state the source of research and publication funding, including the funding institution and grant or project number where applicable. If no funding was received, authors may state: The authors received no funding from any party for the research and publication of this article.

Declaration of AI Usage

Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence tools in preparing the manuscript in accordance with the journal’s Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy. Example: The authors used ChatGPT to assist with language editing and grammar checking. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, revised, and verified by the authors, who take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript. If no AI tools were used, authors may state: No artificial intelligence tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal interests that may influence the research or publication process. If no conflict exists, authors should state: The authors declare no conflict of interest.

Data Availability

Authors should state whether and how the data supporting the findings can be accessed. Example: The data supporting the findings of this study are available in [repository name] at [URL], reference number [reference number]. Where data cannot be shared because of ethical, legal, confidentiality, institutional, or participant-consent restrictions, authors should clearly explain the limitation.

Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Material

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, clearly titled, referred to in the text, and presented in sufficient quality for publication. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for copyrighted materials and for disclosing AI-generated or substantially AI-modified visual materials where applicable. Supporting materials such as research instruments, interview protocols, coding frameworks, anonymized datasets, extended tables, or additional figures may be submitted as supplementary material, provided that they do not disclose confidential or identifiable participant information.

References

All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa. Authors should use a minimum of 25 relevant references, prioritizing recent and reputable peer-reviewed scholarly sources, with at least 60% preferably consisting of journal articles. Dinamika Penelitian uses APA 7th Edition style, and authors are encouraged to use reference-management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. DOI or stable URLs should be provided where available, and authors are responsible for verifying the authenticity, accuracy, and relevance of all references.

Similarity and Research Integrity

Manuscripts may be screened for textual similarity and other research-integrity concerns. The journal applies a maximum similarity threshold of 20%, subject to editorial assessment of the nature and source of individual matches. Plagiarism, fabricated data or references, duplicate publication, falsification, citation manipulation, inappropriate image manipulation, and other forms of research misconduct are prohibited.

Submission and Peer Review

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system and will undergo initial editorial screening before peer review. Submission does not guarantee publication. Final decisions are based on relevance to the journal’s scope, scholarly quality, methodological rigor, research integrity, reviewer recommendations, and editorial judgment. Authors are expected to read and comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics, Peer Review Process, Generative AI Policy, Open Access Policy, Copyright and Licensing Policy, Withdrawal Policy, Retraction and Correction Policy, and Article Processing Charge Policy before submission.
