Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Bahasa Lingua Scientia (JBLS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal follows the principles of publication ethics and relevant Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines in handling corrections and retractions of published articles.
Correction Policy
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article that does not significantly affect its main findings or conclusions. Corrections may include errors in author names, affiliations, references, data presentation, figures, tables, or other published information.
Authors should notify the editorial office through the journal's official OJS system, explaining the error and providing the proposed correction. The Editor-in-Chief will
assess the request and decide whether a formal correction notice is necessary. Approved corrections will be published and linked to the original article to ensure transparency.
Retraction Policy
An article may be retracted when serious concerns undermine its reliability, integrity, or ethical acceptability. Grounds for retraction include fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, serious methodological errors, manipulated peer review, or other significant violations of publication ethics.
The retraction process may be initiated by authors, editors, readers, or relevant institutions. The editorial office will assess the available evidence, request explanations from the authors where appropriate, and conduct further investigation when necessary. The Editor-in-Chief or authorized editor has the final authority to decide whether retraction is warranted.
A retraction notice will explain the reason for the decision and be linked to the original article. The original article will normally remain accessible with a clear retraction notice to preserve the transparency and traceability of the scholarly record.
Expression of Concern
When serious concerns arise but the available evidence is insufficient for an immediate decision, the journal may publish an expression of concern while further investigation is conducted.
Fairness and Transparency
All correction and retraction cases will be handled fairly, confidentially, and based on evidence. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised. The journal will maintain appropriate records of editorial decisions and update relevant publication information where necessary.
These procedures aim to protect the integrity of published research and maintain the trust of authors, reviewers, readers, and the academic community.
